"Just a note to let you know we all loved our stay at The Old Post Office and will definitely be booking again.
We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed some superb walks and the views and wildlife just wonderful."

"Bridge Cottage is one of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed. The cottage is secluded, through a gate at the end of a long driveway which runs along the shore of Dunalastair Loch. Beautiful views down the Loch from the front of the cottage, the river runs past the side of the cottage with a small woodland at the back. At the other side of the cottage, there is a path which leads to McGregors Cave, a nice short walk. The property is clean, comfortable and relaxing and the wood burner fantastic for a cosy night in. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might require including a washer and dryer. Beds are comfortable and warm with extra blankets for colder nights. If you are looking to get away from it all, for peace and tranquility and/or love wildlife, this is definitely the cottage for you. The only noise you will hear, is the sounds of nature. There is no light pollution, so on a clear night, stargazing is a must. There are red squirrels playing in the woodland at the back door of the cottage, otters in the river at the side of the cottage, deer roaming on the land within the gate of the cottage, fish jumping out of the water, buzzards and kestrels flying overhead, smaller birds on the bird feeder at the front window, owls and bats in the evening and if you are up early enough, or go for a walk in the evening you will see the mountain hares. There is no TV (bliss) and limited mobile signal (even more bliss), although if you really need it, a short walk along the drive towards the gate will give you full signal. The village of Kinloch Rannoch is about a mile down the road and has a store if you need supplies There is a lovely cafe with good food and fresh home baked cakes which also sells beautiful handmade gifts, books and cards, there is a gallery and the Dunalastair Hotel in the village square which serves food. There are many nice gentle walks in the area, both hill and forest, but if you are looking for something a little more energetic, there is a Munro, the Schiehallion, which is five minutes drive from the cottage. A relatively easy climb most of the way, but a proper scramble at the top which is completely covered in boulders. Unfortunately we were surrounded by cloud at the top, so no views....pick a good clear day. There is a rowing boat provided at the cottage if you want to fish or just go for a paddle around the Loch or down the river. We take our own kayaks so have never actually used the boat, but it's there for you to use if you want. This was our third year staying at bridge cottage and still remains at the top of our list of best holiday cottages. If you just want to get away from it all, this cottage is the place to be. "Just a short note to thank everyone at Dunalastair and say how much we all enjoyed our stay at East Lodge last week. Particular thanks to Paul who was very quick to respond to a couple of items. We hope to return in the future."

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our fourth stay at Dunalastair. West Drumchastle is a fantastic holiday house with a stunning view of Schiehallion and in a very private setting. The garden was excellent for the boys and the dogs. We are already planning a trip here next year! Thank you"

"Have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West Drumchastle and have never seen so many versions of one view before! Schiehallion is a different picture every few minutes! The cottage is cosy and comfortable and we have had some lovely walks and days out despite changeable weather. The woodburner is great for the evenings and everything you need is right here. Have been entertained by the many birds on the feeders"

"I have completely fallen in love with “My Mountain”. My first morning opening the curtains I saw it and the mist around it, it was amazing, Gods own painting that changes all the time. I would be quite happy just to sit and gaze on the beauty surrounding this cottage. My son had told me all about it but nothing could prepare me for such a beautiful place. It is a cosy cottage and just right for me with décor my taste, the roaring fire was a great. Can’t wait to come again. I am sorry to return home.

"I just wanted to say thank you for the lovely stay we had in Rose Cottage over the long weekend. Your efforts with getting the cottage ready and setting the fire were greatly appreciated. We felt so lucky with the weather on Saturday, it really was very beautiful and has made coming back to work in London this morning quite challenging!"

"Just got back from our first visit to the Dunalastair Estate staying in Balmore Cottage. What a wonderful cottage equipped with everything you could want. Wonderfully warm and welcoming. A beautiful part of Scotland, we hope to be back again soon. Thanks."

"We had a fabulous stay at the cottage (Old Laundry), I hope all was left in an acceptable condition. It's certainly somewhere we want to return to, it's a wonder we managed to tear ourselves away this time, and the holiday blues set in far too quickly afterwards!"

"Balmore Cottage is great and everything one could possibly want."

The Collins family

"This was our first week on this estate and we leave today with some very good memories. We have spent our time walking, rowing and exploring the area. The cottage is well equipped, warm and beautifully located. The boat was a fabulous addition to the facilities even though neither of us fish. It was lovely spending time on the lake. The walk up to Rob Roy’s cave was well worth the effort. The cave is fantastic once we found it and the view breathtaking. In summary, total peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Wonderful"

"Well what a wonderful place to relax and unwind. I say relaxed we found so many wonderful walks we returned each evening exhausted but to this place of tranquillity. I so enjoyed every morning and night feeding the birds and just listening to the silence."

"This is a very belated email to thank you for a lovely break at Tuim Cottage and for the excellent service you offered us.

The cottage was a wonderful bolthole for a few days and we were impressed with the comfort and amenities it had to offer. Brodie loved it. The location is stunning, there’s plenty of walking and we were so lucky with the weather.

I will definitely come back to Dunalastair Estate in the future and will certainly recommend it to friends too."

"This is the second time that we have spent a week at Dunalastair, in a different cottage this time, (last time it was Tuim Cottage) but once again it was fantastic. Quiet location, superb scenery with a well appointed cottage with a lovely wood stove. Will be coming back!!!!

Guests from London

"We were really lucky with the weather which was a great start but so loved the cottage we stayed in Balmore. The house was stocked with absolutely everything you could possibly need. Full laundry facilities, a kitchen with everything you could possibly need, not only larger equipment but also the various utensils and the bits and pieces you might forget to take eg cling film. dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, bath requisites. Log fire was a welcome addition for the colder nights. Would definitely return.

"We (two adults, three kids at 2, 5 and 12) spent two week at Rose Cottage and enjoyed it very much. Location is quiet and in the middle of Scotland, a perfect starting point for trips all around the country but there is also much to do in the area. House is clean and fully equipped, it also has a garden where you can sit outside and the kids have space to play. Manager is very friendly and helpful.

From Germany

"Our stay at Tuim Cottage was at the end of a longer trip to the UK, and it was definitely the highlight of our trip. The cottage is very comfortable, well-equipped, and spacious -- perfect for just relaxing or as a base for activities in the area -- and very well-maintained. Our two teenage daughters loved the twin room, and the double bed in the "master" bedroom is more comfortable than ours at home! THANK YOU for a wonderful retreat, and it is definitely recommended. We are already planning our next visit!"

The Callaway Family

"just a quick note to thank you both very much for our wonderful stay at Old Laundry last weekend. The cottage and surroundings were lovely and we felt very welcome. We would love to stay at the Estate again in the future, and will certainly recommend Dunalastair to our friends. We also got engaged while we were there, so it was a particularly memorable time!
Many thanks again, and best wishes

"Myself, husband, two grandsons aged 4 & 8 and my sister in law stayed in the old post office at the end of March. We had a fantastic holiday. The boys learned so much watching the wildlife, we even had a red squirrel in the garden. Even though it was cold and snowing at the time walking round the estate was still pleasurable, knowing you would be returning to a warm log fire. Melanie was very nice when she came to welcome us . Everything you could possibly have needed was supplied and the cottage was clean and very homely. A very big thankyou to all at Dunalastair. Will certainly be recommending Dunalastair to friends and family."

"Our first visit to Dunalastair estate and we don't think it will be our last. The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and so cosy and clean. The view of Schiehallion and the countryside all around was incredible and a week's stay just wasn't long enough. One of the loveliest places we have ever stayed!"

Caroline Buchanan August 2013

"From the second we arrived to the second we left everything was perfect. To walk out your front door and see the ever changing look of Schiehalion bang in front of you was very special. We have been holidaying in the area from Blair Atholl to Rannoch and in between for 30 years, but this our first time at Dunalastair Estaes, but we will be back. We are planning to bring our Family to Maragdubh in October next year and for my wife and I with my boy ( dog ) Bailey we be booking West Drumchastle and possibly Maragdubh in March and August next year. I can't recommend Dunalastair Estate Cottages highly enough. Brilliant."
