Please remember that walking in these remote areas requires proper equipment for the terrain whatever the weather, as it can turn nasty very quickly if the mist comes down. You can get advice from Scottish Mountain Safety and Skills. It is important to wear suitable footwear and to carry extra warm clothing and a compass. Do not depend on a mobile phone as there may not always be a signal.

Rannoch is a great place for cycling on quiet roads. It is the venue for part of the Etape Caledonia, an annual cycling event in May in which over 3000 cyclists take part on closed roads.
