Tuim Cottage - A cosy cottage near the river

Our guests love watching the wildlife around Tuim Cottage and the view towards the hills. This is a very attractive, recently renovated 4-star holiday cottage standing on a rise 200 metres or so from the River Tummel and not too far from East Lodge, (so they could be rented together although each retains total privacy with trees between).

This pretty cottage stone cottage has a fenced garden area at the rear and a wild garden surrounding that and parking for several cars at the front, well off the road inside the gate. There are mature shrubs and trees in the garden including birches and Scots pines and a woodpecker regularly visits as well as red squirrels and other wildlife. You can sit on the garden seat in the evening and savour the peace and watch the wildlife.

Walk along the riverbank and enjoy the mature pine woods with heather and blaeberries underfoot, and birches, alder and willow. You may well be lucky enough to see an osprey in summer as they nest not far away and can frequently be seen in the area.

This special holiday home has oil central heating and is comfortably laid out with a spacious L-shaped living room with sofa and armchairs grouped around the cosy wood-burning stove set in the original stone fireplace. There is Sky TV and DVD player and there are plenty of books and puzzles.

The good-sized dining area has large pine dining table, chairs and dresser and is adjacent to a small sun room with garden furniture. This cosy holiday cottage is ideal for a family or a couple.

The double bedroom has a king-size bed. A door leads from here into the bathroom (which has a door from the living room, too).

There are two steps down to the sunny twin bedroom which faces south.

The family bathroom has bath with shower over, WC and basin and, in a cupboard, the washing machine and tumble dryer.

The very well equipped modern kitchen, which faces Schiehallion, has plenty of storage cupboards, and oil central-heating boiler (oil included in rent).  "Very well equipped, best kitchen we have come across!" Jan 2011

There are several steps to the front door which may make it unsuitable for those with walking difficulties. There are three steps up to the back (sunroom) door.
